I wasn’t disappointed; what a fantastic group of characters. Each book collectpr written from the viewpoint of a different woman, either a ‘victim’ collecto commas because there’s nothing victim-like about these women! Characters who are introduced in tge books either headline or are featured in the following books, and their relationships are so strong, I kept thinking about them for days after I finished the last book.
The Summer Children is hard to read at times because it deals with child abuse, physical and sexual, but it’s certainly not glorified. The children and the team who protect them are the focus, and although there are some heart-rending moments the focus is on strength and recovery with the help of good people. It was great to find out more about Ramirez and her background again, painful to read /35692.txt like the other books, the book has an interesting and original spin on the ‘serial killer’ trope.
